Establishing the authenticity of the Kaaba cover is different from examining an ordinary piece of cloth; it is a process that depends on documentation and official sources.

A genuine piece of Kaaba cloth (Kiswah) can only be authenticated in two main ways:

Official Certification (Most Important): The main proof of authenticity is the official certificate verifying the origin and history of the fabric. These certificates are issued by the Kiswah Factory, which is usually affiliated to the General Presidency of the Affairs of the Kaaba and Masjid al-Nabawi in Saudi Arabia, or by official institutions of the Saudi Government. Without this certificate, it is almost impossible to prove the authenticity of the fabric.

Quality and Workmanship of the Fabric: Kiswah is made of pure silk, dense and with a special weaving technique. The calligraphy (verses) is embroidered with pure gold and silver threads. This craftsmanship is completely different from ordinary commercial fabrics or replicas.
