The inside of the Kaaba is not empty, contrary to what is seen from the outside, but it is quite simple and not used for worship. It contains the following elements:
Three Wooden Pillars: Supporting the ceiling are three ornate wooden pillars that have been standing for centuries.
Wall Inscriptions: On the interior walls are plaques and inscriptions with the names of the caliphs and rulers who maintained and repaired the Kaaba.
Gift Chest: There is a special chest where the Holy Qurans and valuable items gifted to the Kaaba are kept.
Tawbah Gate: There is a small door (staircase) inlaid with mother-of-pearl and gold that leads to the roof of the Kaaba.
The floor and lower parts of the walls are usually covered with marble. There is no mihrab or minbar for worship inside, so it is not organized like a mosque. It can only be entered for cleaning and private visits.
